Terms of Use
Whatty is a private, invite-only messaging service run by Whatty ("we"). By creating an account or using Whatty you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
Who can use Whatty
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You need an invite from an existing member. One person, one account.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- You're responsible for who you invite. If someone you invite seriously breaks these Terms, we may act on your account too.
What isn't allowed
Don't use Whatty to:
- share anything illegal, or any sexual content involving minors (we have zero tolerance for this and will report it to the authorities);
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk or spread hatred against anyone, or encourage violence or self-harm;
- send spam, scams or unwanted mass messages, or spread malware;
- impersonate someone, or share other people's private information without their permission;
- share content you don't have the right to share;
- try to break, overload or get around the security or invite system;
- record other people's calls without their consent where the law requires it.
Your content
What you send is yours. You allow us to store it and deliver it to the people you send it to, and nothing more. You're responsible for what you send.
Reporting and blocking
You can block anyone, and report a person or a message from inside the app (tap the ⋯ next to a message, or open a chat's info). Blocking hides their messages from you and stops them messaging or calling you. Reports are reviewed by us; when we see a report we may look at the reported message and its details, but not the rest of your conversation.
What we may do
If these Terms are broken we may remove content, warn you, suspend or end your account, or remove your invites. If you think we got it wrong, contact us at whattychat@gmail.com and we'll take another look.
The service
- Whatty is provided "as is". We work to keep it running and safe, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
- Whatty can't be used to call emergency services.
- Messages are not end-to-end encrypted (see the Privacy Policy).
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses from using Whatty. Nothing here limits rights you have by law.
Ending your account
You can delete your account whenever you like, in the app or on this page.
Changes
If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and ask you to accept them again in the app.
